What’s your favorite album by The Beatles? Has it stayed the same over the years, or has it changed? From 1967 to the late 80s I would’ve said that Sgt. Pepper’s was my favorite, but after that it’s been a toss-up between Revolver, the White Album and Rubber Soul. This Sunday on Fine Tuning I’ll devote most of the show to the new Super Deluxe Edition reissue of Rubber Soul, which features a beautiful new mix of the album done by Giles Martin, the son of Beatles producer George Martin. The 4-cd box set also includes a ton of previously unreleased session recordings and demos, plus rare photographs and insightful liner notes written by Kevin Howlett. One of the greatest albums of all time has never sounded better! Also in the mix will be a birthday tribute to Chuck Berry, born 100 years ago on October 18, 1926. Fine Tuning: Sundays from 4 to 6 p.m. on ann arbor’s 107one.
