Led as always by vocalist and songwriter Matt Johnson, English post-punk band The The has finally released “Ensoulment,” its first album in almost 25 years! Matt has never shied away from serious topics in his songs, and “Ensoulment” is no exception, as it explores the grave effects of technology, life, death, and transcendence. The The performs at Detroit’s Masonic Cathedral Theatre on Wed., Oct. 23rd, and this Sunday on Fine Tuning I’ll have “Ensoulment” in the album spotlight plus songs from The The’s equally fabulous 1983 debut “Soul Mining.” Fine Tuning: Sundays from 4 to 6 p.m. on ann arbor’s 107one.
