This Sunday on Fine Tuning I’ll be paying tribute to music industry titan Clive Davis, who died on June 22nd at the age of 94. In a career that stretched over five decades, Clive discovered and signing an astonishing number of artists who became hit-makers and household names (Janis Joplin, Chicago, Bruce Springsteen, Donovan, Patti Smith, Whitney Houston, Sly & the Family Stone, Billy Joel, etc., etc., etc.). Believe me, your record collection would not be the same without Clive Davis! In the album spotlight will be “Mission of Mercy,” the very fine new recording by Mike Campbell & The Dirty Knobs, who will be playing at the Flagstar Strand Theatre on July 12th.
