This Sunday on Fine Tuning I’ll start the show with a big birthday tribute to Bill Withers, who would’ve been celebrating his 87th birthday on the 4th of July. In addition to a few studio classics, I’ll feature Bill’s fantastic “Live at Carnegie Hall’ album from 1972. And then at 5 p.m. I’ll pay tribute to British guitarist, songwriter and vocalist Mick Ralphs, who died on Monday at the age of 81. Mick was a founding member of Mott the Hoople and Bad Company, and I’ll focus on Mott tunes that Mick wrote, sang and played guitar on. Fine Tuning: Sundays from 4 to 6 p.m. on ann arbor’s 107one.
