This Sunday on Fine Tuning I’ll pay tribute to the groundbreaking singer-songwriter-guitarist Ellen McIlwaine, who passed away on June 23rd at the age of 75. I’ll focus on the compilation album “Up from the Skies: The Polydor Years,” which features some of her finest singing and slide-guitar playing. Also in the mix will be a birthday tribute to Louis Armstrong, who was born on August 4, 1901, and I’ll also have new music from Steve Gunn, Prince and The War on Drugs.
