This Sunday on Fine Tuning I’ll pay tribute to the legendary Brazilian musician Joao Gilberto, who died on July 6th at the age of 88. One of the primary creators of bossa nova, Gilberto is best known for singing and playing guitar on the 1964 smash hit single “The Girl From Ipanema,” which also featured his then-wife Astrud Gilberto on vocals and Stan Getz on tenor saxophone. Fine Tuning: Sundays from 4 to 6 p.m. on ann arbor’s 107one.
