Fine Tuning preview: 8/26/12

This Sunday at 4pm on my 107one Fine Tuning program I’ll be featuring Anastasis, the first new album in sixteen years by the uniquely captivating duo Dead Can Dance.  Helmed as always by Lisa Gerrard and Brendan Perry, Dead Can Dance fuses together many genres of music from around the world, incorporating Gregorian chants, Gaelic folk, African polyrhythms and much more.  I caught them live back in 1996 at Ann Arbor’s Michigan Theater and it was a genuinely thrilling, mind-opening  experience.  How very cool to have them back in action — just wish their current, all-too-short tour was bringing them back to A2!
