Fine Tuning is back this Sunday

After taking Christmas Day off, I’ll be back this Sunday (New Year’s Day) at 4pm with a new edition of Fine Tuning. I’ll be paying tribute to the ‘barefoot diva’ Cesaria Evora, who died just before Christmas at the age of 70. I have incredibly fond memories of Cesaria, the Grammy-winning vocalist from the Cape Verde islands off the coast of West Africa, and was very saddened to hear she passed. I will never forget the time she got me drunk in her hotel room while I was interviewing her for my mid-day radio program on WDET, and I will always treasure the thought of that special afternoon when she came by ‘DET for a mesmerizing live performance.
