Sorry to have been out of touch. My first few weeks at ann arbor’s 107one have been busy ones. Getting up for my 6 a.m.-10 a.m. program is challenging, but I don’t miss rush hour traffic one bit. I’m working with great people and learning new technical skills on advanced equipment. The program is evolving daily, with new features and interviews to complement the music.
Every weekday at 7 a.m., you’ll hear Martin’s Mix, two of my current favorites or hot new tracks. I deliver music news at 8:20 a.m. weekdays, and I’m blogging at the station’s Web site too. I also recommend the station’s comprehensive online concert listing.
Tomorrow (Thu., Feb. 16), I’ll be at Borders Books in Ann Arbor, hosting a live performance by Duncan Sheik at 12:30 p.m. Come on down and say hello if you can. Sheik’s “White Limousine” tour stops at the Blind Pig tomorrow night.
Starting Sunday, March 5, I’ll be hosting a new weekly program from 4-6 p.m. called “Fine Tuning with Martin Bandyke.”And for those outside the broadcast area, plans are proceeding to stream the station’s signal over the Internet. I’ll post the details asap..
Check out my review of the new Ray Davies solo effort, “Other People’s Lives,” in this Sunday’s Detroit Free Press.
