I’m back in business!

So thrilled to be with “ann arbor’s 107one” (WQKL-FM 107.1), playing much of the same music you’re used to hearing from me. You’ll also hear a variety of interviews at 107one during my morning drive shift, 6 a.m.-10 a.m. weekdays, starting Monday, Jan. 30. If you’re in Washtenaw County or west of Telegraph in metro Detroit, you’ll pick up the station no problem. If you’re farther east, or elsewhere on the planet, don’t despair. 107one will be streaming its signal over the Internet very shortly. If mornings aren’t your thing, I hope to launch a weekend program soon. Please check us out on the air or at www.annarbors107one.com.

Meanwhile, I will keep scheduling DJ gigs throughout our area, to keep in close contact with you. Because several of you have asked, I’m also booking private party DJ jobs.

And yes, there will be more content on this site soon. All my Free Press CD reviews will be here as soon as the newspaper gives its OK. Watch for CD release dates and concert announcements. I’ll post a bio with some fun photos and a links page. And with your help, I hope to post all my “Best Of” lists from years past, which were lost in my job switch. If you’ve got any old lists, send ‘em in Thanks for your patience, as we build this site with pro bono assistance.

Finally, a sunny day I’d probably start my program with “At Last” by Etta James, slip in some Subdudes and Dirty Dozen Brass Band, maybe Patty Larkin. I’m working several strong angles aimed at getting back with you, musically speaking. It might not be too long. Stay tuned

This coming Friday, the 13th (yep ), I’ll be looking for you at iLounge in Pontiac, at my first DJ gig in a few months. Doors open at 9 p.m., admission $10. This new spot inside Clutch Cargo’s is lush and plush, a martini lounge with a good-sized dance floor.

Here’s a couple of suggestions to keep the energy up this weekend. Tally Hall plays an all-ages hometown gig tonight at the Blind Pig in Ann Arbor, but get there very early if you want in because this is one hot group. And this weekend, the Magic Bag hosts the Anti-Freeze Blues Festival, featuring Olu Dara tonight and on Saturday, from Chicago, Siegel-Schwall.

Hope to see you on the 13th.
