Hi Everybody.
A long overdue update after an incredibly busy couple of weeks, during which I emceed the Los
Lobos concert at Power Center, interviewed ex-Luna leader Dean Wareham on my morning show and then later saw his ’13 Most Beautiful’ presentation at Power Center, emceed My Dear Disco and the Macpodz on two successive evenings at the A2 Summer Festival’s Top of the Park series, went to the Rothbury Festival for two nights to see Bob Dylan & The Dead and many other fantastic acts, co-emceed the 5th annual Townie Street Party to kick off the A2 Art Fairs, emceed two nights of performances on the 107one stage at the South University Art Fair (headlined by Serena Ryder), saw Yo La Tengo and the Don Was Super Session II at the Concert of Colors, and emceed Dick Siegel’s performance just last night at the Concert of Colors.
I have also been very busy giving support and spending a lot of time with my Mom, Helen Bandyke, who recently had successful hip-transplant surgery and is due home from the hospital in a couple of days
WHEW!
Back to a normal work schedule this week and things are finally starting to calm down significantly.
Besides my regular contributions in the Detroit Free Press, look for my weekly column on the new website AnnArbor.com beginning this Friday, July 24, and then each Sunday beginning on July 26. I’ll be covering the entertainment scene in Ann Arbor, and look forward to writing about the vibrant arts scene there.
