Hi everybody.

I thought I was levitating at Bob Dylan’s concert last Thursday at the Palace of Auburn Hills, and no, it wasn’t because of anything I was drinking at the time!

The show was simply fantastic and at times overwhelming, with Bob and his superb band playing classic after classic, including Stuck Inside of Mobile…, Visions of Johanna and Positively 4th Street. High Water (off of Love and Theft) and ‘Til I Fell For You (from Time Out of Mind) were also stunning, as were the new tunes he did from Modern Times. Whew, what a show.

Tonight I’ll be off to see another legend, Van Morrison, in his first area performance in 20 years. What a banner year for artists who rarely visit SE Michigan – 1st it was Tom Waits at the Opera House this summer, then Randy Newman a coupla weeks ago at the Michigan Theater, and now it’s Van.

Hopefully he won’t be too crabby and we’ll be treated to some more musical magic.

This Thursday (Nov. 9) is my birthday, and what a present I’ll be receiving when Robyn Hitchcock and the Venus 3 (including R.E.M.’s Peter Buck) stop by Ann Arbor’s 107one for Studio A2 performance.  Listen during the 2pm hour when I’ll jump in to host ths one.

Best,
Martin
