Michael Kiwanuka’s fifth album “Fudge” was initially supposed to come out in the fall of 2025, but its release was delayed after he suffered a devastating stroke right before the album was due to be issued. Kiwanuka, who’s only 39 years old, is still recovering from this medical crisis and his future as a recording and touring artist is sadly unclear at this point. Recorded in Michael’s modest home studio, “Fudge” is the British singer-songwriter’s most intimate and personal statement to date, and I’ll be featuring it this Sunday on Fine Tuning. Also in the mix will be new songs by Hiss Golden Messenger and Shannon McNally, plus a birthday tribute to the late Phil May, a founding member of British Invasion stalwarts The Pretty Things. Fine Tuning: Sundays from 4 to 6 p.m. on ann arbor’s 107one.
