This afternoon on Fine Tuning I’ll lead off the show with a set of tunes by Elbow, the brilliant British band led by vocalist Guy Garvey. I’ll be heading to the Royal Oak Music Theatre tonight to see Elbow’s first show in Michigan in almost eight years…can’t wait! Next up in the album spotlight I’ll feature “Neon Grey Midnight Green,” the eight album by singer-songwriter Neko Case (pictured), and one of her best to date. In the 5 p.m. hour I’ll pay tribute to two British musicians who passed away recently: guitarist and bassist Chris Dreja, a founding member of the Yardbirds; and drummer Viv Prince of the Pretty Things, whose unruly and outrageous stage antics set the stage for the likes of Keith Moon and John Bonhan.
