This Sunday on Fine Tuning I’ll feature “Bloodline Maintenance,” the superb new solo album from singer-songwriter Ben Harper. Also in the mix will be lots of songs by the Temptations, in honor of the Detroit premiere of the Tony Award winning musical “Ain’t Too Proud: The Life and Times of The Temptations,” opening next Tuesday at the Detroit Opera House. I’ll also pay tribute to legendary music executive Mo Ostin, who died last Sunday at the age of 95. As chief executive of Warner Brothers Records, Ostin signed countless top acts to the label, including the Kinks, Paul Simon, Prince, Jimi Hendrix, R.E.M., Rickie Lee Jones, Neil Young, etc., etc. All that plus a 73rd birthday tribute to Mark Knopfler of Dire Straits! Fine Tuning: Sundays from 4 to 6 p.m. on ann arbor’s 107one.
