This Sunday on Fine Tuning I’ll be featuring “Heartmind,” the exquisite new studio album from singer-songwriter Cass McCombs. In his review of the album for the Wall Street Journal, music critic Mark Richardson says that “Heartmind” is an arresting collection of songs that tackles pain and uncertainty with humor and grace. I couldn’t agree more! Also in the mix on FT this Sunday will be a 73rd birthday tribute to Hugh Cornwell of the Stranglers, plus a tribute to Jerry Allison, drummer for Buddy Holly’s band the Crickets. Alison died on August 22nd at the age of 82. Fine Tuning: Sundays from 4 to 6 p.m. on ann arbor’s 107one.
