This Sunday on Fine Tuning I’ll be featuring a two-part tribute to Mark Hollis, frontman of the British art-rock group Talk Talk. Hollis died earlier this week at the age on 64. After recording synth-pop/new wave hits “It’s My Life,” “Talk Talk” and “Life’s What You Make It,” the group moved in a different direction on their last two albums (1988’s “Spirit of Eden” and 1991’s “Laughing Stock”), which are far more experimental & utterly uncompromising. Robert Plant, Radiohead, Elbow and Duran Duran are just a few of the artists who’ve praised the influential work of Mark Hollis. Fine Tuning: Sundays from 4 to 6 p.m. on ann arbor’s 107one.
