Hi Everybody.
Spring is here, temperatures are on the rise, some great new music has just come out with more arriving soon…plus the Detroit Tigers home opener is a week from this Friday — things are looking up!
I’ll be back at Borders 01 in Ann Arbor on Wed., April 21 to emcee our next Studio A2 on the Road event. This one will feature a free, live performance by the great singer-songwriter Martin Sexton, who’s got a new album out soon entitled ‘Sugarcoating.’ Martin will sign copies of his new CD immediately after his live set of tunes. Showtime is 12:30 at Borders 01, located on Liberty St. in A2 — right across the street from the Michigan Theater. Hope to see you there, and if you can’t make it in person make sure to listen in on www.annarbors107one.com.
Look for my next article in Ann Arbor. com this Sunday, April 4 — I’ll be speaking with one of my favorite human beings on the planet — guitarist, vocalist and songwriter Patty Larkin, who plays at The Ark on April 8.
Currently grooving on the new Broken Bells, Betty LaVette (not out officially ’til May), the final Ali Farka Toure & Toumani Toure collaboration, Jeff Beck and Laura Marling….plus the usual stuff: early Traffic, Dylan’s Time Out of Mind, Maurice Ravel, Frederic Chopin, etc.
Best,
Martin
