What a spectacular night with Patti Smith at Borders 01 in Ann Arbor last Thursday! In great spirits and super-generous with her time, Patti read from and signed copies of her excellent new memoir “Just Kids,” played and sang a few songs, and took questions from fans in attendance. What a honor to emcee this event — something I will remember for a long, long time.
I’ll be back at Borders 01 to host a free, live performance by the Avett Brothers on Tuesday, March 9. The Avetts are generating a big buzz with their Rick Rubin-produced major label debut “I And Love And You,” and will sign copies of their new CD after they play some songs from their new album. See you there — showtime is at Noon on the 9th.
Don’t forget to wear black this Friday, Feb. 26 — Johnny Cash’s birthday.
