Happy Mother’s Day!
Last night’s Leonard Cohen concert at the Fox Theatre — his first show in Detroit in some 16 years — was an eloquent and elegant marathon that lasted well over three hours. Backed by a superb band, Cohen delivered brilliant renditions of his finest songs, including ‘Suzanne,’ ‘Everybody Knows’ and ‘I’m Your Man.’ The sight of Cohen literally skipping offstage with delight is an image which will stay with me for a long, long time.
This Saturday morning– May 16 — I’ll have the honor of being the M.C. at Walk & Wag 2009, the biggest fundraiser of the year for the Humane Society of Huron Valley. This will be my third as M.C. and something I really look forward to each year. Lots of fun for an important cause. Details at www.hshv.org,
