Hi Everybody,
This Sunday (Feb. 1) at 4pm on my 107one Fine Tuning program I’ll be paying tribute to Buddy Holly, who died 50 years ago on Feb. 3, 1958 – The Day The Music Died, as Don McLean once sang. I’ll also feature new music from Bruce Springsteen and Franz Ferdinand.
A week from Sunday (Feb. 8) on Fine Tuning listen in for an interview with author Steve Knopper about his terrifiic new book ‘Appetite For Self-Destruction: The Spectacular Crash of the Record Industry in the Digital Age.’
Two free events are coming up soon at the downtown Ann Arbor Borders on Liberty, both of which I’ll be MC-ing. Stop by and see singer songwriters Griffin House (Wednesday, Feb. 4 at 12:30pm) and Brett Dennen (Wednesday, Feb. 18 at 12:30pm). Both will play mini-concerts followed by CD signings
And in the ‘how-time-flies’ department, tomorrow (1/28) marks my 3rd anniversary at WQKL-FM in Ann Arbor.
Can’t wait for winter to be over — that Detroit Tigers home-opener is only 63 days away!
Best,
Martin
