Tomorrow afternoon on a very busy Fine Tuning I’ll lead off the show with songs from artists featured in the Oscar-winning music documentary “Summer of Soul,” including Stevie Wonder, Sly & The Family Stone, and the Staple Singers. I’ll be hosting a free screening of “Summer of Soul” at the Chelsea District Library on Wed., Oct. 30 at 6:30 p.m., with details at chelseadistrictlibrary.org. After that I’ll feature songs from the MC5, who were finally inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame earlier this month, and as part of the mix I’ll include tracks from the band’s new “Heavy Lifting” album, the first MC5 studio recording in over five decades! Also on the show will be an 85th birthday tribute to Grace Slick of Jefferson Airplane; songs from The The, who put on a spectacular show at Detroit’s Masonic Cathedral Theatre a few days ago; and a tribute to bassist Phil Lesh of the Grateful Dead, who died on Friday at the age of 84. Fine Tuning: Sundays from 4 to 6 p.m. on ann arbor’s 107one.
